How to support yourself after your journey
A breathwork journey can be a powerful and transformational experience, so the processing and integration that comes following your experience is really important. Try to give yourself some space to be with it all. Welcome in spaciousness and allow yourself to sit with your emotions. Remember that you don’t need to understand your journey in this moment - trust that any wisdom meant for you will stay with you. If you feel your experience wasn’t resolved in one session, you may feel called to journey again, once you’ve had time to integrate. Post breath care
Remember to go easy on yourself over the next few days following your journey. Here’s a reminder of the recommended post-journey care:
Please drink plenty of water - one glass an hour every hour (whilst awake) in the following 48 hours post-session.
Continue to create a container of self-care for yourself, as well as spaciousness for your process.
Take time to ground and integrate. Time in nature is perfect and if you can place your bare feet directly on the earth, even better. You may feel drawn to have a bath or swim in the ocean (weather permitting).
Remember that breath medicine may continue to work on you past the journey. Be open to the wisdom of the process and hold the understanding that more may continue to show up in the day/days following. Journaling, meditation, yin/restorative yoga, nature, salt baths, nourishing foods and liquids will all support you in moving through anything that could come up.
Keep in mind that healing is not linear and not everything is always resolved in one session. If something surfaces for you to work with in the days to come, be gentle and compassionate with yourself. Be willing to sit with it to allow you to reap its wisdom for greater awareness and integration. Be open and stay curious as whatever is surfacing is showing up for you to heal/witness/receive/integrate/transform to move into a new octave of embodiment. And of course, I would love to see you back in the space to continue supporting you on your journey.
If you feel sensitive or more emotional than usual in the days following your journey, know that this is normal. Hold yourself with love and allow whatever is surfacing to be met. The layers of ourselves that we breath into during a journey are only ever met when we are ready to move through them. Know that if anything has come up, it’s because you’re ready to grow with it.
